Software Engineering is a VSTI core competency.  Our engineers bring extensive real-world experience in the design, development, and deployment of software solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community domains. In particular VSTI has extensive expertise in Enterprise Information Integration (EII) to include federated query architectures via messaging platforms, commercial enterprise indexing technologies to include Lucene, Endeca, and MetaMatrix, service-oriented architectures accredited at PL2 and PL3, and complex event processing via real-time streaming technologies. VSTI solutions are currently deployed at several intelligence agencies.

At VSTI, we offer our clients current expertise in a number of key areas including: website and applications design, web technologies, computer programming, advanced security (PKI) integration with web services, information retrieval, middleware development, IT strategic planning, knowledge management systems, geographic information systems, visualization, and informatics.

We recognize that technology depth and breadth alone is not enough to deliver success for our customers - at VSTI, we focus on the successful integration of customer solutions through quality processes in accordance with the ISO9001 standard. Our engineers are trained in our documented quality processes. VSTI engineers can also leverage “Mindshare”, a VSTI knowledge management system that captures technical approaches, algorithms, and lessons learned to mitigate risk and improve delivery times for our customers.

To accelerate development and deployment for VSTI customers for example, many VSTI engineers involved in software development engagements are employing an Agile Methodology process that leverages iterative development cycles.
