A case in point of VSTI’s demonstrated strengths in R&D is our development of the Information Dissemination Platform (IDP) as a participating technology provider in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. IDP provides for ubiquitous device interaction and communication to cell phones, pagers, PDAs and computers via text messages, email and instant message. Because it can send media-rich content to carefully defined audiences, and yet can work on any device, the technology is especially valuable for emergencies, communities and businesses.
Coordinated by the Small Business Administration, SBIR is dedicated to funding some of the best early-stage innovation ideas. We have successfully completed the first two phases of SBIR’s product development process for IDP, having driven our technology solution from the proof of concept and feasibility stages to our current process of commercialization.
